CAD-CUT® Super Film – Film for Performance Apparel

CAD-CUT® Super Film – Film for Performance Apparel

Ever wish there was a CADCUT material that
performs just like the technical fabric that it’s applied to? We did that’s why we invented Super Film.
Stay tuned we’ll show you our secret formula next. Hi I’m Josh Ellsworth with Stahls’ CADCUT
direct and you’re watching our product demonstration of Super Film. Super Film is our secret Formula specifically
for synthetic fabrics. So, to understand Super Film, you really need
to understand the synthetic fabric marketplace first. So three of the core fabrics that are used
that are synthetics are nylon…this is a nylon spandex blend. So the second fabric
is spandex, and then the third is polyester. Those are your three key synthetic fabrics
that Super Film was really designed to accomodate. So some popular constructions you may see
performance apparel, tactical gear, bags, jackets, umbrellas, the list kinda goes on
when you think of items that are comprised of synthetic fabrics that you may want to
decorate. And as I said, we really designed Super Film
specifically for these fabrics. It’s gonna meet the challenges so that those items that
are tough to screen print, that are tough to embroider,
or that you can’t use sublimation on, that’s were Super Film comes into play. Its’ gonna have a real nice soft feel on the
fabric…its’ gonna meet the performance challenges and your customers are gonna
look at it and their gonna say “This is even better then screen printing”. So, we’ll demonstrate Super Film..cutting
it, weeding it, heat applying it right now. When cutting Super Film be sure to set your
blade depth and cutting downforce accordingly. The material is extremely thin, so on a scale
of 0 to 250 grams on the GX-24, you’ll need to be between 70 and 80 grams of downforce. Being that the material is very thin and easy
to cut, it also doesn’t wear down on the blade as quickly. Super Film is very unique in that it is mounted
to a non-pressure sensitive carrier, but you still can cut great detail. The material is pretty easy to weed, on a
scale of 0 to 5 stars I would rate this material a 4. Some of the detail that you can achieve with
this product really makes it phenominal. You can see here a really small number that
I’ve cut to show you the detail. Now that I’ve weeded and cut the design it’s
ready to heat apply. Simply position the garment on the heat press,
preheat to remove the moisture and wrinkles for a few seconds. Super Film applies at 320 degrees for 10 to
20 seconds, with a pressure of 6 on the Hotronix. Position your design…simply lock down the
press…
Super Film is a warm or cold peel, so I could wait 10 seconds and then peel the backing
off or I could throw the garment to the side complete
my other applications if I’m running a whole job and then come back and peel the backing
later. My design is now cooled down and I’m ready
to peel the backing. Very simple to release. And this is it our finished result with Super
Film. As you can see, it stretches right with the fabric as I showed you before,
and rebounds. I wish you could step inside this screen and feel this design. It’s extremely
soft, you almost can’t feel it on the fabric. And the best thing is, Super Film is very
durable and it’s lab certified for the following. So if you’re looking to grow your business
especially in performance apparel and technical textiles…try Super Film out. This is gonna give you a product that really
allows you to reach areas that you hadn’t been selling to before. What else would you expect from the inventors
of CADCUT!
