How to Create Realism With Textures in Cinema 4D : Using Cubic Projection in Cinema 4D

JOHN CARSTARPHEN: Hi, this is John Carstarphen
for Expert Village. Let’s try a different projection. And we’ll try the cubic projection
with the same number of tiles, and that’s way too many. In fact, let’s render this.
So let’s go back to–we’ll set this at one and one with a cubic projection. And this time, it looks a little better. We
can still see one seam here, a seam here because it’s being tiled. It’s still being tiled.
But actually, the projection on this surface is better now because it’s more closely related
to the type of surface this is. We had a cubic projection map and we’re projecting the map
onto a cube. So the projection is actually a little bit better here. There aren’t–there
isn’t quite as much stretching. We still see a couple of small seams here, but it’s not
as bad as it was before.
