system. EPR holds all documentation of our patients’ care including current and historical visits to UHN. Documentation occurs in real time and it is supported with built in tools that aid clinical decisions. Who needs the EPR? We all do! UHN is a workplace where inter-professional collaboration is essential and our patients are partners in care. We all need to do our part to ensure that EPR documentation is complete and available in a timely manner for those who need it. We all rely on EPR for information we need to do our jobs whether that job involves ensuring patients are checked in and seen quickly and efficiently, providing direct patient care, documenting our findings and results, using data for clinical innovations, or ensuring that you UHN is reimbursed appropriately. at the center of all our work are the patients who rely upon us to care for them safely and protect their health information. Because we all depend on it each of us has a professional accountability to ensure the documentation and the patient’s electronic record is accurate and timely.
