-Congrats on “Big Mouth,”
by the way. -Thank you very much.
-Season two on Netflix. [ Cheers and applause ] Not only is it super funny, but it’s also —
it’s based in reality. -It is.
It’s based on… I get very serious,
all of a sudden, talking about my own show. -Yeah, me, too.
-Mm-hmm. Yeah. [ Murmuring indistinctly ] -Tell me about —
Tell me when you… -[ Deep voice ]
You know, Jimmy, uh, when I started
working on “Big Mouth” — -Your hair just got really long. -Yeah.
[ Laughter ] You know, “Big Mouth” is, uh… -“Big Mouth” is like —
I always have this problem. -You know, when I started
working on “Big Mouth,” um, my hair was really short. -Yeah. Uh-huh. -Uh-huh.
-Tell me about it. -[ Valley Girl accent ] Um,
when I was doing “Big Mouth”… -Yeah. Uh-huh.
-Mm-hmm. …it was a different time
in my life, and… [ Normal voice ] “Big Mouth” is
based on me and my best friend, Andrew Goldberg, from childhood. And we — It’s based on us
going through puberty. He…
[ Laughter ] He was a very early bloomer.
I was a very late bloomer. I didn’t get pubic hair
until I got to high school. -Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. -My two pubes are voiced by Jack McBrayer
and Craig Robinson. -Congratulations. -Thank you. And Andrew was
a very early bloomer. He had one of those little,
wispy mustaches. I don’t know if you’re
familiar with that. -No.
[ Laughter ] -And his parents
waxed his upper lip. -[ Laughs ] For real?
That really happened? -For real, and so, for years,
he couldn’t grow a beard. He could just grow the hair. Everything around here,
but no hair here. And so we would call it
his “reverse Hitler.” [ Laughter ] And the show is about
kids going through puberty, and they all have
Hormone Monsters. Maya Rudolph is the girls’
Hormone Monster, and she’s not talented. [ Laughter ]
-She’s clearly very talented. -No, and I’m so mad
at Dolly Parton. -And Maya Rudolph. No, there’s a lot
of great people, but I will say that
you yourself are very talented. In this cartoon alone,
you do like 25 voices. -Yes.
-And that’s amazing to do. -Thank you very much.
-You’re like today’s Mel Blanc. -[ Laughs ]
I am today’s Mel Blanc. And the kids —
And the kids know. [ Laughter ] -No, you really are talented. I was just seeing if I could
maybe play a game with you where I can test you. If I name the character
you’re doing, could you give me one line
in character as that character? -Sure. -Okay.
-Let’s do it. So, these are all characters
from “Big Mouth”? -There you go. Ready?
-Okay. -And we’ll put a chyron
on the screen. Ready?
-Mm-hmm. -First one — Nick. -I’m so mad at Dolly Parton. [ Laughter ] -Number two — Hormone Monster. -[ Gravelly voice ]
Touch yourself, Jimmy. [ Laughter ] -Number three — Coach Steve. -[ High-pitched voice ]
Uh, you know, uh… you know, I’m basically alone
all the time. [ Laughter ] -Number four — Lola. -[ Valley Girl accent ]
Oh, my God, Jimmy. Like, I want to go to a “Pretty
Little Liars” meet-and-greet. [ Laughter ] -Number five — Rick. -[ Softly ] Hey,
what are you gonna do? [ Laughter ] -Six — the Jansen twins. -[ Dutch accent ]
Oh, Jimmy, I’m so excited to be on your show tonight. -Number seven —
Rabbi Paulblart. -I am the rabbi
at Temple Beth Amphetamine. [ Laughter ]
-This is… Number eight — Bad Mitten. -[ Deep voice ]
I’m not a good mitten. I’m a — I’m a bad mitten. -Number nine —
Sylvester Stallone. -[ As Sylvester Stallone ] Hey,
you know, “Creed II” is out. I was in “Rhinestone”
with Dolly Parton. It’s great.
It was great. It was, uh… -Fantastic.
Number 10 — Ladybug. -[ High-pitched voice ]
Ooh! It’s a ladybug! [ Laughter ]
Let’s cut to… [ Cheers and applause ] It’s a ladybug! And now for
the legendary Roots crew from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!
