OLSAT Picture Series – Video Tutorial by TestPrep Online

Welcome to Test-Prep-Online’s OLSAT
video Academy. In this lesson we’re going to cover
picture series questions. These questions will test your ability
to find a pattern across a row of pictures The pictures go together in a certain
wayץ You need to spot the changes from box to
box, recognize the pattern, and find the answer choice that goes in
the empty box. Let’s take this question for example. Look at the pictures in order, starting with the first picture.
First we have an apple with a banana to its left. In the second
picture we have an apple with a banana above it.
In the third picture we have an apple with a banana to its
right. In the fourth frame we have an apple with a banana below
it. How do we know which picture comes next? The trick with picture series questions is to understand the pattern.
We can see that in this case the Apple stays in the middle of the
picture, whilel the banana keeps changing positions around it. In the first picture the banana is to the
left of the Apple. In the second picture it’s above it.
Then it’s to the right of the Apple, And finally the banana moves below the
Apple. To find the pattern it would be easier to imagine
the series of pictures together as a video. When we see it this way it’s clear to us the banana goes around the Apple clockwise.
So now that we found the pattern, we need to find the right answer choice.
The question we need to ask ourselves is: Where should the banana be in the last box if it continues its movement around the Apple?
Very good. The correct answer is C.
If we continue the pattern with the banana moving around the Apple, the banana needs
to be to the left at the Apple in the correct answer.
Remember in pictures serious questions you should
first try to understand the pattern then try to find the right answer choice
to continue the pattern. Great job!
