Picture Yourself at Nestlé Purina

[music] -There’s this huge
passion and love for pets, and I think that is something
that’s very clear that you see and you feel as soon as
you step on a campus. -You see the people, you see
the smiles, you see the passion, you see the pets. You see everything that
people look for in a company. -It’s not just a
passion for pets, and you can feel that around. But there’s a passion for what
you do, for how you do it, and for the people
you work with. -Then you add onto it
this culture that’s very you-friendly, family-friendly,
friend-friendly, if you will, and you’ve got a pretty
magical combination there. -Whenever I bring my
dog Teddy to work, we cannot come to work without
going to the Bark Yard. -I feel like all of the pets
here pretty much just have this “live life to the
fullest” kind of feel, where they’re all really happy
and so you can feed off some of that positive energy. -Pets are just a
portion of what we do. It’s the people who everyday
are able to put together new products and new innovations
that we were able to present out to the marketplace. -The constant innovation,
it’s not only in products. It’s in absolutely
everything you do everyday. -It’s a very
collaborative environment, so people value your opinion,
no matter what level you are. -A good idea at the end
of the day is a good idea. -This thinking of “we can do it
better” that is aspirational, and it comes from
everyday change. It’s something I
really like here. -We’re not a team of ‘I,’
we’re a team of ‘us.’ And so really looking within
the organization and saying, “We together as a
team assume the risk. We together come up
with the great ideas.” -The whole premise of a flash
mob is the element of surprise, something that’s
completely unexpected. This is so exciting. Leave it to Purina for
executing a flash mob, because I think that’s just
kind of a culture that we would naturally do anyways. -It really is a culture that
supports a learning environment, so allowing people to really grow professionally as
well as even personally. -I went through a
management training program, and actually spent a year at
the manufacturing facility. I learned the entire production
process from raw materials all the way through the finished
shipment to a customer. To be able to now bring that
back to the corporate world, and to share my experiences,
it’s been really rewarding. -It makes you feel really good
when you walk in and there’s anyone that’s willing
to help you out, and that’s why they’re
such a wonderful team here. It’s definitely a place
I want to be every day. I come through the door with a
smile, and I leave with a smile. -We realize people have lives outside of the work
that they do here. -If I need to leave at 4,
I can leave at 4. As long as I get the work done,
that’s what’s most important. -It is great having
that flexibility, like having that trust. -I absolutely feel like I can have a great
career here at Purina. At the same time, not sacrifice
being a great mom at home. -With Purina also comes Nestlé,
and if you have the desire and the drive to have some sort
of international experience, that’s definitely something that
could potentially be put inside your wheelhouse, should you
want to go through and do it. -There is a wealth
of opportunities, and I think the biggest thing
is partnering with people here. Because, true to this culture,
if you identify a need and a desire, people will bend
over backwards to help you. -We have the smartest
nutritionists, the smartest product
development folks, we are on the cutting edge of all kinds of
nutritional breakthroughs. -Your mission as a
company is very humble. You know, it’s about this bond
between animals and humans. And it’s not only what
our dog food is about, creating relationships. -When you can say that the work you’re doing
is benefitting pets, it just makes you smile,
it makes you feel good. -At the end of the day,
I’m not a pet owner. But through the work that I do,
those people that it touches- it’s amazing to see the
smiles on their faces. That emotion that our work has
the ability to generate is one of the most rewarding things
that I can imagine in a career. [music]
