Where Are All the Updates?

Where Are All the Updates?

Some viewers may be wondering, “Where are
all the updates?” I mean, I haven’t uploaded a new video in
over two months. The last one was on Earth Day. And so wanted just to share a couple of reasons
why I haven’t been uploading any new videos, and also explain a little bit of the visual
direction I wanna take for the channel as well. One reason why I haven’t uploaded any new
videos is because I’ve been focusing on other tasks outside of YouTube. The first of which is that at the congregation
where I attend, which is a Church of Christ, I’ve been assisting them with the update of
their webpage. Uploading new sermons, uploading new bulletin
articles, and also devising a means by which we can maintain the webpage in a reasonable
fashion. That had taken a number of weeks to develop
and get together, and then also it has the continual maintenance that’s involved each
week. The other thing that has been going on is
a continuation of what was announced several months ago. I mentioned last year that there was not going
to be any updates for the channel due to an adoption. And, that of course did happen, and so, what
I’m doing now is I’m trying to have a bit more balance whenever it comes to YouTube
and the needs of my family, my wife and my child, and supporting them, helping them,
as the head of the household. And so that has been the other primary focus
as well. Then there is the obvious difference with
this particular video compared to other ones I have produced, and that is that it just
shows pictures, it does not show me walking around in front of anything. It doesn’t show my face. And that is by design. One thing that people may not be aware of
unless you’ve developed YouTube videos yourself is that even if you make a video that’s only
three, four, five minutes in length, it still takes hours to get that video together. To get it so that the video content, the audio
content, are synced together properly. To get it so that the intro graphics link
in properly with the rest of the video. To get it so that your graphics come up right,
to make it so that the text comes on the screen in appropriate manner, and so on and so forth. It does indeed take several hours just to
prepare one five minute video. And so to help it so that I can produce more
videos with less amount of time used for each video, I’m gonna try and present videos in
more of a PowerPoint sort of fashion. Now, I do recognize that these videos may
not be as interesting to look at compared to the ones I’ve produced before, but I thought
that simpler videos would be better than no videos at all. So, thank you very much for listening, and
for watching, and have a nice day.
